The author: Simon Dewhurst has been skiing since the age of 21. He has taught in North America, Scandinavia, and the European Alps.
He was a passable club racer and a speed skier, achieving 106.78mph in the French Cup in 1988. His ambition is to beat Kalevi Haakinen’s
record of 131mph (at the age of 63). He is 61. His hobbies are gardening,
bricklaying and playing the flute, and he lives in Cheshire,
England.
AUTHOR'S NOTE:
'The Secrets of Better Skiing' was written in 1991, a few years before the
introduction of carving skis. Although additions and changes are now
being made to the text, there may still be some omissions that need to be
addressed.
