The village of Chatel is an an old Savoyarde farming community and part of the extensive Portes du Soleil area bordering Switzerland in the northern French Alps. Super Chatel is great for beginners and links with the ski resorts of Morgins, Champoussin and Torgon across the Swiss border.
The intermediate and advanced skiing is around Linga, where the snow stays longer. Avoriaz is within easy reach. There is a good selection of friendly bars, restaurants and apres ski.
It should be noted that contrary to popular belief the snow record in Chatel is excellent and year on year is better than Meribel in the Three Valleys!
