APARTMENTS in la Plagne with PV Holidays
Lying to the north east of the Three Valleys, la Plagne consists of ten different interlinked villages all purpose built. Because of the high altitude the snow record is excellent, and the skiing is exceptional across the board from the nursery slopes to the Bellecote Glacier and the testing run down to les Arcs. The off piste skiing is especially good.
The cable car from the northernmost village of Montchavin across to Peisy Vallandry now joins two more French ski areas together to form the vast Paradiski circus. There are plenty of good restaurants in la Plagne and ten night clubs to satisfy everyone!
There are several satellites lying below the centre including the small but popular village of Montalbert and les Coches, which still retain the charm of a Savoyarde farming community, and virtually guarantee snow till the end of the season with extensive snow cannon coverage.
From the back of la Plagne there is lift access down to Champagny in the Bozel Valley, and Courchevel. Champagny is another old Savoyarde village with an atractive church, and an ideal place to stay as it is cheaper and quieter than la Plagne and in a lovely sunny position.
The piste down to Champagny is usually skiable from January to mid March but at the end of a hard day's skiing a 7 minute ride in the bubble is usually more welcome!
