Welcome to Ski Jungle
- Ski resort details & skiing info for
Reberty
France
APARTMENTS in Reberty les Menuires with PV Holidays.
Lying just above les Menuires on the south facing side of the Belleville Valley Reberty is one of the eleven resorts in the vast Three Valley ski area in the northern French Alps. It is really an off shoot of les Menuires but is being developed with a lot more sympathy than its neighbour with chalets rather than apartment blocks. It has good access to all the other resorts, and the ski chalet prices are somewhat cheaper.
Some of the off piste on the opposite side of the valley is the best in the Three Valleys. It can be quite crowded during the French school holidays but has excellent beginners slopes.
Reberty is connected to the other three resorts of Val Thorens, les Menuires and St Martin de Belleville by the efficient lift systems, and to the other seven resorts in two more valleys - Meribel, Mottaret, and the five Courchevel villages.
The skiing in the Three Valleys is reputedly the best in the world catering for every standard, and the off piste can be exceptional. The snow conditions are good way into April but are best on the Courchevel side as the resorts face north and locally gets the highest snowfall, but at Val Thorens the Cime de Carron cable car goes to 3200m (10400ft) where good snow is guaranteed all season.
There is a fourth valley with excellent skiing from the top of the Cime de Carron down to a half way station. In mid season it is possible to ski down to Orelle which links the Chambery-Albertville road with les Carroz, the Frejus tunnel and the Italian border fifteen miles away.
All the resorts in the Three Valleys are serviced by snow cannons and there is usually a skiable piste down to the low lying villages (le Praz, la Tania and St Martin de Belleville) until mid April, when the flowers are starting to come out and it is definitely shorts and shirtsleeve skiing.
The Three Valley lift pass covers all 11 resorts making the area one of the largest in the world.
