APARTMENTS in les Sept Laux
Les Sept Laux, only forty kilometres from Grenoble and one hour from the airport, is a relatively unknown ski area in the Bellendonne mountains. It includes the three villages of Prapoutel, Pipay and Le Pleynet and has 120km of runs. The area has a good record of snow and an extensive snow canon network. With the opening up of Grenoble airport to budget airlines, the resort is now attracting international skiers.
The lift system is modern and has been redeveloped recently with large government investment. Les Sept Laux, (from 'ceylau' meaning 'high country'), has the first combi lift - chairs with the odd bubble thrown in - which makes it attractive for beginners. The resort is perfect for all types of skiers ranging from beginners, who can take lessons right outside their accommodation, through to experts either on the black runs or on the extensive off-piste in the area.
As well as the piste, Les Sept Laux also boasts one of the largest snow parks in Europe designed by the H.O.5 Park group, featuring many varied obstacles for snowboarders. It is an especially popular ski area with Grenoble university students, who come to make tracks on the extensive off piste.
The ski resort hosts a number of restaurants, shops, bars and a cinema together with an open air ice skating rink and lots of other activities making it a very good destination for non skiers.
