The Ski Train &
Eurostar Direct Trains with Rail Europe |
Ski trains
run from 22 December 2007 until April 13th 2008. You can take
a train on the Friday evening, either the Ski Train or the Eurostar
Direct Train, allowing you to spend the whole of Saturday on an empty
piste, OR the Eurostar Direct Train – leaving on Saturday morning and
arriving just in time for dinner at your chosen ski resort in France.
The trains run from the new St Pancras via Ebbsfleet and the Channel
Tunnel to Paris and then on down to the Alps, stopping at Chambery,
Albertville, Moutiers, Aime-la-Plagne, Landry and Bourg St Maurice.
What are
the advantages of each type of train? The Ski Train has couchettes (6
to a compartment) and a disco bar which makes it attractive for
families, and the Eurostar Direct Trains are faster and more
comfortable with two meals included.
Also worth
mentioning, if you take the evening Eurostar Direct Train both
ways, you’ll get 8 days of skiing instead of the usual six.
